CATHEDRAL DOOR 2“I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.” (Psalms 16:8, NLT)

“Day and night I’ll stick with God; I’ve got a good thing going and I’m not letting go.” (Psalms 16:8, The Message)

“I am always thinking of the Lord; and because he is so near, I never need to stumble or to fall.” (Psalms 16:8, TLB)

I like all three of these translations of this passage and couldn’t decide which one to use so I’ve posted all three. Everything in your life may be shaking, the world around you may be in an earthquake but you have to know that if you stick close to God, you will not be shaken.

Life happens, things you can’t avoid take place, the enemy loves to creep into your life and try to shake everything around you, but God will be your stability when everything else is shaking. He will keep you still in the midst of your storm.

The Message translation says: “Day and night I’ll stick with God; I’ve got a good thing going and I’m not letting go.” Day and night, during the bright times of your life and the dark times, stick with God. I’ve seen so many over the years run to God during their dark times and ignore Him during the bright, good times of their lives. If you will determine to stick with God and not let go no matter how good or how bad things are, you won’t need to stumble or fall, you will not be shaken because He is right beside you.

It’s because of Him we have good days and it’s because of Him that we can make it through bad days. Stick with God, stay close to Him, and think on His ways every day and you will not be shaken!
