“Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you: A prophet to the nations — that’s what I had in mind for you.” (Jeremiah 1:5, The Message)

This week I don’t have a specific “series” but you will see a common thread. I believe beyond any doubt that each and every person reading this is qualified, called, and chosen. I also believe that some of you reading this need to be released from some things of your past. I believe some of you reading this need to be released from hurtful words that were spoken over you as a child and you’ve carried them your entire life.

Qualified: having the qualities, accomplishments, etc., that fit a person for some function, office, or the like. The passage in Jeremiah doesn’t just apply to Jeremiah’s life, it applies to yours also. Before you were even shaped in your mother’s womb, He knew all about you. Before you even saw the light of day, God had holy plans for you.

If God knew you before you were formed in your mother’s womb, if before you saw the light of day He had plans for you, don’t you think He’s qualified you? You’ve probably heard the saying, “God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called.” Because society teaches us that we must first have qualifications, that same mindset leaks over into our spiritual life, but much like everything in this spiritual walk, God tends to do things the opposite of our mindsets and our habits. God calls you first and then qualifies you, in this way it requires total dependence upon Him and His ways because we can’t do it in our own will. When you walk fully in God’s call, very seldom do you feel qualified to do what you’re doing. He gives you the qualifications you need to fulfill the call on your life.

Wherever you’re at today, you have to know that you’re qualified. It doesn’t matter what others have said or what’s taken place in your past, God says you’re qualified. Begin to walk in confidence today that before you were born, you were set apart and appointed by God.
