Through-It-All-sheet-music-page_16544-12-1Sometimes in life God brings us back and reminds us of where we came from. I believe this is a process that’s important from time to time. Though we should not be so focused on our past that we cannot move ahead, we should still never forget how far God has brought us. This has been me today. God brought me way back to what will be 26 years in July, the day I gave my life to Christ. I was 9 years old and it was at a Kids Crusade at our little Pentecostal church in Maine. Though I was young, I will never forget that day. I could walk in that church today and bring you to the spot I knelt at the altar. I could give you the name of the lady who prayed with me. I was a very shy boy yet something tugged at my heart and brought me to the altar that day. Even though I didn’t really realize it at the age of 9, God marked my life that day. I thank God for that church and the foundation it built for me growing up. There’s an old song we used to sing that keeps going through my mind. “Through it all, through it all, I’ve learned to trust in Jesus. I’ve learned to trust in God. Through it all, through it all, I’ve learned to depend upon His word.”

God is faithful, don’t ever forget where you came from as you’re on the road to where you’re going.
