(12) The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing! God is putting the finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we first believed. (13) We can’t afford to waste a minute, must not squander these precious daylight hours in frivolity and indulgence, in sleeping around and dissipation, in bickering and grabbing everything in sight. (14) Get out of bed and get dressed! Don’t loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about!

In 2012 I preached a sermon while still in Maine and wrote a post with a similar title. The title was “The Night Is About Over, Dawn Is About To Break.” My wife sent it to me to look at. After reading it again I felt to bring this back around but notice the difference in the title. I felt to tell you today, God isn’t about to do something, He’s doing it. Your night IS over and dawn IS breaking!

It’s very easy in life to get so absorbed and exhausted with day-to-day obligations that we lose track of God’s call. Some of you have been in a night season, things look dark and lifeless, and you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m telling you today that your night is over and dawn is breaking! Don’t waste a minute, get back to what God originally called you to do. The sun is rising in your life and you need to prepare yourself to step into what God has.

Get out of bed and get dressed! Don’t loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about! What you thought was over, is just beginning. What the enemy thought he destroyed in your life, he just set you up for something greater. Declare it today, night is over, dawn is breaking!
