THE JOURNEY DAY ONE: STICK IT OUT

walk_away“So don’t throw it all away now. You were sure of yourselves then. It’s still a sure thing! 36 But you need to stick it out, staying with God’s plan so you’ll be there for the promised completion.” (Hebrews 10:35-36, The Message)

We are all on a journey, each one at a different stage, different crossroad, different position, and different circumstances and challenges that come our way. This week I want to focus on some key things to help us all through the personal journeys we are all on.

This passage stuck out to me, we’ve all had days when we didn’t feel like fighting any longer, we didn’t feel like sticking it out. We’ve all had days when we’ve felt like everything we are doing is a waste because, with natural eyes, nothing seemed to be changing. It’s during these times that we need to stick it out the most. It’s important to have people around you who will simply pray for you during these times.

“Don’t throw it all away now. You were sure of yourselves then. It’s still a sure thing! But you need to stick it out, staying with God’s plans so you’ll be there for the promised completion.” It’s hard to wrap our minds around God but He truly cares about every detail of your life. He knows exactly how you are feeling right now, and He understands. It’s okay to have times of disappointment and discouragement, the key is don’t stay there. Don’t throw it all away, what you were sure of then, it’s still a sure thing!

This journey we are on was never guaranteed to be easy, but it is guaranteed that God will be there beside us on the best of days and on the worst of days. So, stand up, throw your shoulders back, and keep moving!
