“Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.” (Matthew 14:29, NLT)
I want to challenge and encourage you to take some chances this year. Stepping into God’s will for your life, many times, requires us to take chances. You aren’t always going to have all the details you need for your future, you may be nervous about taking steps towards God’s plan for your life, but I challenge you to take some chances.
Everyone reading this is probably familiar with the story of Peter walking on the water. In this writing I don’t want to focus on the fact that he did walk on water, and, that he took his eyes of Jesus and began to sink when Jesus reached down and saved him. I want you to focus on the fact that Peter got out of the boat.
Jesus is wanting you to make steps towards His plans for your life, will you get out of the boat? Don’t worry, right now, about whether you’ll walk on water or whether you will sink. Focus on getting out of the boat first. Focus on taking a few chances. You may not have all the details, you may not be able to see what will or will not happen. Your first step is to take a chance.
Take chances in 2017.
