START LIVING IT!

“My counsel for you is simple and straightforward: Just go ahead with what you’ve been given. You received Christ Jesus, the Master; now live him. You’re deeply rooted in him. You’re well-constructed upon him. You know your way around the faith. Now do what you’ve been taught. School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving.” (Colossians 2:6-7, The Message)

As I continue to focus on our authority in Christ, I love this passage in The Message version. I believe this entire passage is referring to the authority we have been given through the cross and salvation. We have received Christ, now live Him. Living Him means walking in the benefits and authority we have received. We live so much in a “works” society that we are always trying to do, in order to receive. This Christ life we have been given is, we have already received, now live it.

“You’re well-constructed upon him. You know your way around the faith. Now do what you’ve been taught. School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it!” This is what we need to start exercising. Quit studying doesn’t mean don’t study the Bible anymore, it means quit sitting and start acting. Part of understanding our authority and building our confidence in it comes through us acting on it. It’s time to start living our authority. It’s time to start commanding sickness, disease, depression, lack, etc. to leave.

You have been given the authority to command these things and watch them happen. Let’s start living it, who’s with me?!
