SOUND THE ALARM

alarm“Another reason for right living is this: you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for the coming of the Lord is nearer now than when we first believed.” (Romans 13:11, TLB)

Saturday afternoon my wife was standing in the kitchen. When I came into the room she said, “Shh, do you hear an alarm?” As I stopped to listen, I heard a noise that sounded like an alarm clock going off. As I walked toward our bedroom I said to myself, “it is the middle of the afternoon, there would be reason for me to set my alarm for anytime in the afternoon” when I reached the room, sure enough my alarm clock was going off. That might not seem that odd other than the fact that the alarm was not set to go off, the alarm setting was completely off, yet the alarm clock was ringing. Now, if you know me you know it’s true when I say I’m not the type to spiritualize everything but when this happened I heard the Lord say, “Sound the alarm!”

I’ve been writing a lot lately on preparing, stepping into a new season, staying focused, etc. I believe God is sounding the alarm at this very minute. He’s waking His people up out of slumber. He’s removing cloudiness and restoring focus. He’s wiping away the cobwebs that seem to be constantly in front of you and He’s sounding the alarm in your life.

You may not feel like you’re ready, you didn’t set your alarm to go off but God is saying now is the time. There’s an acceleration in the Spirit and God is setting off alarms that you didn’t think were ready to go off. In other words, you’re going to be stepping into things that you thought was a few months or years down the road. The time is now for you to act, the time is now for you to step in, and the time is now for you to respond to the awakening sound in your life.

Don’t ignore the alarm, it’s intended to awaken the gifts and calling in your life. It’s intended for you to respond with a sense of urgency, while still keeping a level head and listening closely to the Lord’s leading.

Will you respond? Will you say yes? It’s time, you’ve prepared long enough, now it’s time to act.

Sound the alarm!
