“Rise from the dust, O Jerusalem. Sit in a place of honor. Remove the chains of slavery from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.” (Isaiah 52:2, NLT)

“Brush off the dust and get to your feet, captive Jerusalem! Throw off your chains, captive daughter of Zion!” (Isaiah 52:2, The Message)

I want you to read this passage and insert your name in place of “O Jerusalem” and “daughter of Zion.” You’ve been through a desert season and dust of the desert is still on your feet but God says, “Brush off the dust and get to your feet! Throw off your chains!”

Your past is just that, your past. You can’t go back and change anything so it’s time to rise from the dust and remove the chains of slavery from your neck. There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus, His gifts and calling are irrevocable, there’s nothing that can’t be fixed and turned around.

Rise up, dust yourself off, throw off your chains, and get to work! God has not called you to the desert, He’s called you to the mountaintop. Now rise from the dust!
