REMOVING BLINDNESS

Categories: Inspiration

“Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:4, NLT)

I am in the process of reading a book by Andrew Wommack: “The Believer’s Authority: What You Didn’t Learn In Church.” This a great book and I would recommend you reading it if you haven’t already. As I was reading, he used the above Scripture and made the following statement:

“The devil is actively at work today hardening people and blinding them from the truths of the Gospel. This is not a passive battle. He’s aggressively pursuing and trying to destroy people. One of the reasons why the enemy has such a stronghold on so many people is that the church hasn’t really recognized the spiritual battle we’re in.”

As I read that, the last sentence really caught my attention. Take a look at the world around us, including The Church, and it seems to me that his statement is 100% accurate. The Church in general has gotten complacent. We’ve started to just go with the flow. Things that we normally would stand against, we now accept. Now, I’m not saying that we don’t accept people the way they are, I’m not saying that we condemn, judge, and beat people over the head with a Bible because none of that works.

If we would be as active in removing blindness from people as the devil is at producing blindness we could see this world start to turn. If we would be as aggressive at pursuing and trying to turn people to Christ as the devil is in trying to destroy people we could see more lives saved.

God has called us, you and me, to remove blindness. We must recognize the spiritual battle we are in and recognize the seriousness of it. This is truly a fight for life or death. It’s time to rise up Church. It’s time to come out of our slumber, there are blind people that need a clear vision.

Let’s do our part and start removing blindness one person at a time.
