now-what-slide“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” (Psalms 37:23, NLT)

Have you ever had those moments in your life when you’ve said, “Now what?” Not necessarily in a negative way but in a way being at a crossroads. Maybe you’ve been going in a certain direction and you know it’s time for a change of direction but you’re not sure how or what the details are, that’s a now what moment.
My wife and I are at this point right now. Those of you who personally know us know that we are dreamers, and we don’t dream small, we dream big. We have a lot of ministry ideas and a lot of thoughts but aren’t exactly sure how to execute. I’ve learned some things when you get to this point.

1) Stop and sit still.
2) Listen.
3) Plan, write out your vision.
4) Be patient as God works behind the scenes.

None of these are necessarily easy, but they are necessary. I know that when we do these things, God makes things clearer, why? Because the Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.

If this describes you, if you have all these thoughts and ideas but you don’t know what to do first, I encourage you to follow these 4 steps as closely as possible. As you do, continue to listen, continue to write things down as God gives them to you.

I believe that God smiles when we say, “God, now what?” He knows that now you’ve opened the door wide for Him to direct and to piece things together. A now what moment is not a negative moment, it shows that you’re ready for the next step.
