“We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. 9 We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9, NLT)

Maybe, just maybe, the times in our lives that we perceive as struggles are actually protecting us from something worse? We have probably all had circumstances in life when we expected something to happen a certain way and it didn’t. The situations we find ourselves in that appear to be preventing us from what we think we should be doing could actually be protecting us from something. See, God knows every detail of our future, and He knows every detail of what lies behind everything that looks good and appealing to our natural eye. Could it be possible that you feel like you are being pressed on every side, you are perplexed, you are being hunted down and knocked down, but God is allowing things in your life to prevent you from stepping into something that could cause you greater harm? Could it be possible that He doesn’t want you to go in that direction because He has something greater and more fulfilling? I think these are all very possible and I think it’s important that no matter where we find ourselves, we rest fully and trust fully in God that He has us right where He wants us. I do not believe that God puts sickness and bad things in our lives but I do believe He will take the bad and turn it around for good. Not every situation in your life is an attack of the enemy, it could very well be a blessing in disguise and you will soon be able to look back and thank God for His protection on your life.
