“In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:16, NLT)
Many of you reading this have heard me talk about the shield of faith. As a quick refresher, when Paul wrote about the shield of faith he was relating it to the shield of a Roman soldier. A soldier’s shield covered his entire body, it was big enough for him to hide entirely behind. The shield would also link to the shield of another soldier so that they could walk side by side and create one large wall when facing the enemy. This is what our shield of faith was patterned after. It was intended that we would link our shield together with the shield of another believer and so on, as to create one large wall to battle the enemy. The shield of a Roman soldier was also saturated in water so that the fiery arrows of the enemy would extinguish upon impact.
With your faith in place and others alongside of you, the fiery arrows of the enemy don’t stand a chance. And even if you begin to fall, the shield of the one beside you will hold you up as long as you stay linked to them. What God is doing right now is revealing who is in your corner, who is on your side, He’s revealing to you who you need to link together with and as you do it’s going to break the hold of the enemy in your life and propel you into your destiny.
Church, it’s time to be linked together!
