TUNNEL ROAD“Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. 26 Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you. 27 Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust.” (Proverbs 4:25-27, The Message)

As you follow the theme of my posts for this week it’s vital that you ignore any and all distractions that may come your way. There are going to be some “sideshow distractions” that try to pull your attention. Those distractions are coming straight from the enemy because he knows he needs to do all he can to try to distract and get you off track.

This passage needs to be your theme. If you watch your step and avoid distraction the road will stretch out smooth before you. It may not stretch out a long distance at a time, it may stretch out just enough to take another step, but it will. It’s important that during this time of your life that you put on spiritual blinders that prevent you from seeing what is to your right and to your left.

Many times you will see horses that are pulling carriages wearing blinders. These blinders do not completely blind the horse but rather prevent the horse from seeing behind and beside him. They prevent them from becoming distracted or panicked by what they see behind and beside the wagon. See, the enemy likes to remind you of your past and get you to look to the right and to the left. If he can do these things it can cause distraction and panic in your life. These things may very well be real life circumstances that are taking place in your life but the enemy would rather get you panicked about them, you let down that shield of faith and open the door for him to get you off track. You need to put on your spiritual blinders. Stay focused on what God has for you.

How do you put on spiritual blinders? Stay in the Word as much as you can, listen to worship music as much as you can, read the words that have been spoken over your life that point to your destiny and your purpose. Keep your eyes straight ahead and leave evil, satan, in the dust. The road is being stretched out smooth in front of you, now just keep your eyes straight ahead.

Ignore all distractions!
