“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. 6 But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. 7 Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.” (James 1:5-8, NLT)

God is full of wisdom for every situation and circumstance we face in life. When we ask God for wisdom He generously gives, but what I’ve found is that His wisdom sometimes requires our faith to activate. Sometimes God’s wisdom will tell us to do something that takes a huge step of faith. His instructions don’t always make sense to the natural circumstances that are surrounding us.

You may take something different from this passage but what I get out of it is that it’s easy to waver according to what our eyes see in the natural and according to what the world around us is saying. God’s ways are higher than our ways and many times it causes us to walk in extreme faith in order to follow the wisdom He freely gives.

So, when you are in need of wisdom, ask, He freely gives. However, be ready to activate your faith because His wisdom may require you to take a huge step. All you have to know is that if He is directing your steps and the wisdom comes from Him, He will match you step for step has you activate your faith.
