1chron4-10_jabezGOD WILL GRANT YOUR REQUEST
“Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez,[a] saying, “Because I bore him in pain.” 10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.” (1 Chronicles 4:9-10)

I’ve always found this passage interested, that in the middle of a list of names there was a pause to mention Jabez’s prayer. It’s my opinion that the blessing on the life of Jabez must have been something great to take time to record his prayer. The best part is the last sentence, “So God granted him what he requested.” Now is the time for you to ask, make this your prayer. “Lord, that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that You hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” I believe that as you make this your prayer you also will say, “And God granted me what I requested.” He desires to grant your request!
