DSCN8545“Potiphar was furious when he heard his wife’s story about how Joseph had treated her. 20 So he took Joseph and threw him into the prison where the king’s prisoners were held, and there he remained. 21 But the Lord was with Joseph in the prison and showed him his faithful love. And the Lord made Joseph a favorite with the prison warden. 22 Before long, the warden put Joseph in charge of all the other prisoners and over everything that happened in the prison. 23 The warden had no more worries, because Joseph took care of everything. The Lord was with him and caused everything he did to succeed.” (Genesis 39:19-23, NLT)

I love reading about Joseph and the journey God led him on. He experienced many things in life that appeared to not be favorable but turned out to be. In the passage above, Joseph was falsely accused and ended up in prison as a result of it. In the end favor was on his side and he ended up being in charge of all the other prisoners. The last part of verse 23 is key, “The Lord was with him and caused everything he did to succeed.”

This still lines up with authority and confidence in your calling. The enemy loves to falsely accuse you of things but when you stand in confidence of your calling, favor will be on your side. The enemy loves to try to place a prison of guilt and fear around you even when you are innocent. The way to not live in that prison of fear and guilt is to stand confidently in what you are called to do. It’s to constantly rise up and push through. As you do, favor will be on your side. Even when the enemy thinks he’s got you in a prison, you are in charge of that prison. Even when the enemy places a prison around you, everything you do will succeed.

Rise up, rise up to the call that’s on your life. As you do, the prison walls of fear and guilt that have surrounded you will become transparent. God has made you in charge of your prison, now it’s time to take that authority over your prison and break out. Favor is on your side and success is coming your way!
