file6431234669588“A long time passed. Then God’s word came to Elijah. The drought was now in its third year. The message: “Go and present yourself to Ahab; I’m about to make it rain on the country.” 2 Elijah set out to present himself to Ahab. The drought in Samaria at the time was most severe.” (1 Kings 18:1-2, The Message)

Elijah had remained in hiding for three years when God’s word came to him to go and declare rain was coming. I’m sure there were times when he wondered if he would ever come out of hiding. You may have been in a season of hiding. You may be thinking, “Maybe I should just hang it up, maybe I’m all done.” But God is saying, “Now is not the time to retire.”

There are some of you that you’ve been in hiding and God is about to bring you out. Some of you haven’t been in hiding but you’re feeling tired and worn out and God is about to fill you with a fresh fire. Some of you have retreated to retirement mode and God is bringing you back out of retirement because it’s not time yet. There are places were the drought is severe and He needs you to go and declare, “I’m about to make it rain on this place.”
It’s not time to give up, it’s not time to retire, it’s time to look for the rain. It’s time to ask God to send you to a dry place so you can declare, “The rain is coming!”

I believe this is divine direction for some of you reading this today, now is not the time to retire!
