Put your minds on the Master, great and awesome, and then fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes.” 15 Our enemies learned that we knew all about their plan and that God had frustrated it. And we went back to the wall and went to work. 16 From then on half of my young men worked while the other half stood guard with lances, shields, bows, and mail armor. Military officers served as backup for everyone in Judah who was at work rebuilding the wall. 17 The common laborers held a tool in one hand and a spear in the other. 18 Each of the builders had a sword strapped to his side as he worked. I kept the trumpeter at my side to sound the alert.” (Nehemiah 4:13-18, The Message)

In this final part to Battle Plans I want to talk about a very important part of your plans. No matter what you are going through you should always stand guard over and fight for your family. The enemy is on the prowl to destroy families. If he can tear a family apart than he can potentially change the course of history for that family. It doesn’t mean that God isn’t merciful and full of grace and can’t restore, it just means it’s a little longer road to travel. We must not let our guard down, we must always be alert to the enemy at work in our families.

This doesn’t just apply to your biological family, but also to your church family. We must stand guard over each other. Notice what they did in this passage in Nehemiah. Some stood guard while others worked on the wall. There will be times in our lives when we need people to stand guard while we build our walls. On the flip side, no matter how well known we may become, or how important, or how busy, there will come a time in our lives that we are called to stand guard so someone else can build their walls. That’s what Kingdom is all about.

As an ending to this series I pray you were encouraged to continue the fight. Again, as I mentioned at the beginning of the week, we will have times of rest when we are not in a battle but these are good keys to remember for when you are. My prayer is that after reading this each day you come out ready to stomp on the neck of the enemy! My prayer is that no enemy will dare come near you or your family because he knows your reputation for being a fighter and a winner. My prayer is that you will be determined to stand guard and fight for those around you.

Fight for your life, fight for your family, fight for your friends, fight for your destiny, and never give up. You’re coming out of this and satan and all of his cohorts will regret ever picking a fight with you and God’s purpose for your life!

You’ve got your Battle Plan, now fight!
