This is a word that the Lord gave me just recently. When I refer to a generation I’m not talking about a specific age group. I looked up the different definitions of generation and this is the one that applies: “a group of individuals belonging to a specific category at the same time.” That specific category is The Church, The Body of Christ. It’s not limited to an age or to ability. If you are alive and breathing, the generation I’m referring to in this word includes you. Here is what the Lord spoke to me.

There is a stirring of gifts that will sweep this generation and cause an army to arise. The backbone of The Church is being strengthened and it is being straightened. This will cause The Church to stand up straight again and be seen above all other powers of this world. Just like the children of Israel acted at the appropriate time and their shouts caused the wall to fall, The Church of this day will do the same. God is setting things in order and preparing those who are willing to go wherever and do whatever He calls them to do. At an appropriate time, The Church will “shout” and walls in this nation and world will begin to fall. In the meantime, you must keep doing what you’re doing. The children of Israel didn’t stop marching, they kept doing what they had been instructed to do until the appropriate time. Do not let your eyes and minds get clouded by what goes on around you in this world. This is a time, more than ever, when we, The Church must see and act in the Spirit, not in the natural. There is a generation, that’s me and you, that is stirring and there is a great awakening that will sweep this nation again.

As I was writing this, the picture the Lord gave me was a large giant which represented The Church. That giant, however, was slouching or bent over. He looked weak and almost like he had given up. But then I saw the giant stand up straight and towered above everyone and everything else. This is where the Lord gave me the part about The Church being strengthened and straightened. The Church that has bowed to the ways of this world will rise up again and not be a church of judgment but be a true representation of grace and the love of God to this world. I pray you are blessed and encouraged by this word.
