2016“Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ — that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.” (Colossians 3:2, The Message)

“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” (Luke 11:9, NLT)

If you’ve followed my posts throughout the week you will see how they have led up to this one. What the Lord has spoken to me about 2016 is that it will be a year of taking action. 2015 was a year of a lot of restoration taking place as well as preparing, building, and developing. All of this had to take place before you could take action. There were some things that needed to be reordered and reset in your life and God has done that so that you can effectively take action in this year.

If I use myself and Stephen’s Gate Ministries as an example, I explained in my post a few days ago that 2015 was a year for me to build and set structure and make connections. I wasn’t focused in 2015 on getting opportunities to minister in other churches or anything like that. If the door opened that was great but that wasn’t my focus. I knew I needed to be focused on structure and developing. Though that will always continue because it must if you want any ministry to grow, this year I will put more energy into looking for those open doors to minister in other places, while still developing.

This year is a year to put some things into action, to begin to look for those open doors. It may take some faith in some cases, and in other cases it may be a no brainer. It’s time to come out from behind the desk, so to speak, and look for opportunity. Prophetic words are going to come alive and come to pass in 2016. What you’ve been believing for is going to happen because God is putting things in motion in this year.

This may require some major transition for some of you but God is going to clearly direct those steps. The Scripture in Luke that I shared above is a Scripture of action. You have to ask, you have to seek, and you have to knock. It requires action on your part and I believe, in this year, as you combine faith with boldness and begin to ask, seek, and knock like never before you are going to see some amazing things happen. It’s a year where God is going to take action in some matters but it’s also a year where we must take action on all of the things we’ve been preparing for.

2016 is going to be an amazing year, go ahead, step up and take action!
